10/20/21 - LCMR - 1 vs. WWC - 2
Celebrated our two Seniors, Lexi Cremin and Katie Suter this evening on the football field under the lights. The whole entire team came out to play tonight ready for a very competitive match versus Wildwood Catholic Academy. These are the type of rivalry games you get up for and our girls were up to the challenge. Back and forth play from both teams saw chances being created but it was WWC that came out with the first goal. We continued to push and create opportunities taking advantage of space on the flanks. We entered half down 1-0 but easily could have been 0-0. It was a great presentation honoring the seniors and the student section made sure the atmosphere was jumping. We came into the second half still firing and moving the ball creating multiple chances. Unfortunately we went down 2-0 with about 9 minutes left. The girls did an amazing job to continue to fight and we got a goal back with about 6 minutes left from a Kaitlyn McGuigan free kick goal from about 25 yards out. We continued to push for the draw but could not find the equalizer. The girls played with tremendous effort and heart, and moved the ball around the field very well.
10/19/21 - LCMR - 6 vs. Cape May Tech - 0
A nice bounce back win from last week for the girls. We were back at home after a long stretch of away games versus Cape Tech and got off to a good start. We controlled the entire game which found us with a comfortable 4-0 lead at halftime. We continued to move the ball well and stretched out Tech's defense in the second half to help create positive movement through the midfield into our offensive third. Sianna King led the way with two goals and an assist, while Lexi Cremin added two goals of her own bringing her team leading total to six. Tessa Hueber added on a goal while Isabelle Hristov finished off the scoring with her first career goal for the LCMR Girls Soccer program. The remaining assists were dished out by Bella Lund, Doaa Mohamed, and Joanna Bonney with two. Our defense held strong today only allowing one shot on goal giving Kaia Ray her third shutout and fourth win of the season.
10/15/21 - LCMR - 1 at Wildwood - 2
A typical case of, "Sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you." A very tightly contested game in Wildwood that saw us take the lead first when a hand ball inside the box led to a calmly taken penalty kick by Joanna Bonney. We continued to control the game until a late first half goal by Wildwood knotted the game at 1-1 going into half time. We saw more of the same control into the second half moving the ball through the middle of the field with ease and created multiple shots on goal that couldn't find the net in the second half. With about six minutes left Wildwood scored their second goal. That ultimately sealed our fate in a game where we controlled the majority of the game and looked to be the better team.
10/14/21 - LCMR - 0 at Holy Spirit - 4
We definitely gave Holy Spirit all they can handle for the majority of this game. The girls played very well for the entire first half, stifling Holy Spirit's attack while also moving the ball forward and getting into dangerous positions to create chances. Holy Spirit found a late goal in the first half with a minute left that found us down one at the half. The girls didn't let up though, coming out in the second half continuing to keep Holy Spirit on their heels by moving the ball well in behind their backs and creating multiple scoring opportunities that just couldn't find the back of the net. The final score line does not indicate how well we played against this team.
10/12/21 - LCMR - 0 at Vineland - 4
Starting a three game road week with a trip up to Vineland saw us play a fantastic first 40 minutes. There was a lot of positive movement going forward as we created multiple opportunities in front of their goal. The back four did a very good job of maintaining Vineland's front three throughout the first half. It could have easily been 0-0 at half, but a mishandled corner kick with 20 seconds left saw us down 1-0. Two quick goals from Vineland within the first 10 minutes of the second half took the wind out of our sails momentarily, but I think the girls settled back in and continued to push forward and create offensive opportunities. The game finished 4-0 but I think the girls pushed through a tough patch of the game very well. Strong performances by Katie Suter, Kaitlyn McGuigan, and Joanna Bonney.
10/8/21 - LCMR - 0 at Wildwood Catholic - 5
We quick trip up the parkway to Stone Harbor saw us in action against Wildwood Catholic Academy in a CAL United Conference showdown. Catholic came ready to play which saw us on the back foot looking to counter against an attacking minded Crusader offense. We stumbled into half time down 2-0 and couldn't find a way to cut the deficit. The second half saw Catholic put in three more goals. Impressive performances coming off the bench by Dette Erb, Emily Martinez, Katherine Brunell, Katelynn Bailey, and Isabelle Hristov.
10/6/21 - LCMR - 1 at Cumberland - 3
We travelled up to Cumberland Regional High School for an evening clash against the Colts. The girls came out hungry and managed to suppress a very speedy front line of Cumberland for a majority of the first half. Cumberland had a very physical style of play that seemed to take us out of our game, but the girls handled themselves very well and continued to push. We went into the half down one goal. The girls kept pushing and continuing to try and match the intensity of the match and the physicality of Cumberland in the second half, but ultimately ended up conceding two more goals before Kaitlyn McGuigan netted her second goal of the season with a direct free kick.
10/4/21 - LCMR - 4 vs Buena - 0
Back to back wins, back to back shutouts! We kept rolling today versus Buena with a 4-0 win. The ball movement was on point against a Buena team that packed it in almost the entire game. First half saw the score at 0-0, but we controlled almost all of the possession in the half. Great adjustment from the team after half and we broke out with some amazing goals. Tessa Hueber led the way with a goal and two assists. Katie Suter scored her first career goal, while Lexi Cremin and Sianna King rounded out the scoring. Bella Lund finished off the score sheet with an assist. Our defense was once again stingy only allowing 5 shots on goal, with Kaia Ray making two crucial saves to earn her second shutout of the season. Next up is a road trip to Cumberland for a Wednesday night game at 6pm.
10/1/21 - LCMR - 5 at Cape May Tech - 0
A fantastic team win today a short drive up the road at Cape May Tech! Seven different players on the points sheet. Leading the way with three goals was Lexi Cremin. Following along with her first career goal was Bella Lund, who also added an assist. Finishing off the scoring was Sianna King. Other assists came from Katie Suter, Joanna Bonney, Doaa Mohamed, and Isabella Arbelo Miranda. The offense was clicking, especially in the second half where we saw great ball movement in dangerous spaces in order to create our scoring chances. The defense played exceptionally well only allowing Tech to get off two shots on goal to help Kaia Ray earn her first career shutout. Next up is Buena on Monday, 4pm at LCMRHS.
9/29/21 - LCMR - 0 vs. Middle Twp. - 4
Our second tough opponent in 3 days saw us battle tough against a good Middle team. Very proud of how everyone worked hard and battled until the end especially holding Middle to only one goal in the second half. Kaia Ray had an exceptional game in goal saving 19 of 24 shots, making some amazing saves in the second half. Very happy with how everyone pushed through and gave it their all the entire game. Next up is Cape May Tech away on Friday.
9/27/21 - LCMR - 0 vs. Holy Spirit - 5
First game action in a week happened to be our home opener for the 2021 season. Had a few starters and players missing, along with a few unfortunate bounces saw us down 3-0 at half time. The girls played with very good intensity and physicality for the majority of the game and saw us getting into very good positions to start attacks. Unfortunately, we just couldn't turn those attacks into chances. The game ended up finishing 5-0 on two quick goals within the last 8 minutes. Bella Lund and Sianna King showcased in the midfield while Tessa Hueber made 15 saves in goal. Next up is Middle Township at 6 pm under the lights at home.
9/20/21 - LCMR - 0 at Barnegat - 4
A long trip up to Barnegat ended in a tough loss to a Bengals team that was solid from front to back. We started out a little flat, and let Barnegat control the play for the majority of the first half. We settled in towards the end of the half, but by half time it was 3-0 and we were looking to climb out of a deep hole going into the second half. A much better second half overall for us. Played with more intensity and collectiveness and saw some good things happen putting ourselves in situations to create chances. Looking to take a long week without games and bounce back against Holy Spirit for our Home Opener on Monday, Sept. 27th.
9/14/21 - LCMR - 3 at Buena - 1
First win of the season felt good today! Away from home, the Girls Soccer team pulled out a 3-1 win against a Buena team with no quit in them. A slow start saw us eventually controlling the middle of the field and getting into more dangerous positions in front of the net. Tessa Hueber scored her first career goal for LCMR with a well place shot on the back post from a Joanna Bonney cross. Tessa completed her scoring right before the end of the first half finding a through ball into the box from Sianna King. We came out firing in the second half getting a pretty quick third goal from Isabella Arbelo Miranda who hit a fantastic first time finish from a low driven Sianna King cross. Isabella also scored her first career goal for LCMR. We hung on and played well defensively for the remainder of the game to secure the win. Kaia Ray was in net and notched 9 saves receiving her first career win as a GK for LCMR. Up next is Salem this Friday for our home opener.
9/8/21 - LCMR - 1 at Middle Twp - 6
The opening game of our regular season did not see us get the result we wanted, but the girls played a well rounded game with a few positional breakdowns. We went toe-to-toe with a talented Middle Twp. team for the first half, and if not for 2 small mistakes, could have been 0-0 at half instead of 2-0. The girls moved the ball well through the midfield to create opportunities moving forward, but ultimately couldn't find much in front of the net. Kaia Ray made some quality saves in goal throughout the night, and Kaitlyn McGuigan scored a fantastic free kick to score her first goal of the season. Our next game is our home opener against Cape Tech on Thursday.
